Chipotle BBQ Chicken Chipotle BBQ Chicken John Baghoyan

Man food extraordinaire! BBQ chicken has a place in every mans heart. This recipe takes it one step further by adding chipotle peppers in the mix. Make your Chipotle BBQ Chicken as spicy as you'd like by adding more/less chipotle peppers to your BBQ sauce. How manly are you?

This dish goes great paired with our Spicy Jalapeno and Chipotle Coleslaw and Peppery Parmesan Potato Wedges.

Brine Ingredients (optional)*

  • 4 cups Water
  • 2 Tbsp Kosher Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Dry BBQ Seasoning

Brine Directions (optional)*

  1. Place the chicken in a large zip-lock bag or large bowl with lid
  2. Pour the combined brine (water, kosher salt, and dry BBQ seasoning) over the chicken
  3. Let it sit in the refrigerator for 2 to 4 hours. This helps keep the chicken very moist and juicy when cooking.
  4. Bring to room temperature before cooking.


  • 4 Chicken Breasts with Skin and Ribs Attached
  • 1/2 cup BBQ Sauce
  • 2-3 Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce (3 if you like it spicy)
  • 1 Tbsp Steak Seasoning
  • Olive Oil

Chicken Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Prepare the chipotle sauce. Using a blender, combine the BBQ sauce, chipotle peppers in adobo, and steak seasoning.
  3. Remove the chicken from the brine and pat dry with paper towel.
  4. Arrange the chicken on a baking sheet
  5. Rub each piece with olive oil, using your fingers loosen the skin from the meat leaving one side attached.
  6. Spread the chipotle BBQ sauce all over the chicken, then pull the skin over as much of the meat as possible so the chicken wont dry out.
  7. Spread more chipotle BBQ sauce on top of the skin
  8. Bake the chicken for 35 to 40 minutes, or until juices run clear and internal temperature is at 165°F

*Brining may be optional, but recommended to keep the chicken moist and juicy.
